This blog is dedicated to a pursuit of “The Good Life.”

I don’t say the pursuit of happiness or pleasure because the good life is more than that. The good life is a sustainable, fulfilling kind of life that provides us both the struggle and joy we crave and need. Like the summit of a towering mountain peak, it presents immense challenges and climbs, but along the ledges there are breathtaking vistas that make the struggle entirely worth enduring.

This is not a blog about obtaining perfection in this life; far from it.

Rather, this blog is about the daring try at excellence, failing gloriously along the way. Theodore Roosevelt summed it up nicely: “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”

This blog is not original.

I recognize that truth is something outside of you and me. No truth within an article is original, but simply a humble discovery of the already-created institution of that grand creator who designed all things. I do not attribute any of my writings in this blog to myself, but to the creator who founded the principles which we get to discover.
